DB and B Pte Ltd's Award-Winning Office Design: BD's Hype Tribe

A Blend of Biophilic and Experiential Design Promoting Cohesion and Collaboration

The design concept of BD's Hype Tribe was born from the desire to create a blended community space where the various 'tribes' of Becton Dickinson could come together. The design language forms the narrative for the different experiential journeys within the space, promoting cohesion and unity. The office design is a visual and immersive experience, with each area offering a unique ambiance and feel.

One of the standout features of the design is the Alfresco cafe. This space offers a cozy environment with the lingering aroma of freshly-brewed coffee, encouraging casual interactions and collaboration. The dynamism of the space is further enhanced by suspended acoustic panels, which emulate a robust flow or current, adding to the overall immersive experience.

The design also incorporates biophilic elements, with the interplay of wood and greenery throughout the office. This not only adds to the aesthetic appeal but also promotes a sense of well-being and connection to nature. The design team has successfully created a space that is not only functional but also visually appealing and conducive to collaboration.

The project, which began in September 2019 and was completed in March 2020, was carried out at 2 International Business Park Road, The Strategy, Singapore. The design team faced the challenge of binding the various journeys that connected the different spaces, from the main reception area to the co-working café areas, on a large floorplate on two separate levels. They overcame this by ensuring 'neighbourhooding' zoning was applied at the work zones, creating spaces that support seamless collaboration and drive innovative spirit.
